Project Wingspan

Transitional Care Unit at Sechelt | shíshálh Hospital

Repurposing Totem Lodge as a Transitional Care Unit will have a beneficial impact on the health care of our community.
With renovations beginning in fall of 2026, the goal is to move patients in by late spring, 2027.

Expanding Sechelt | shíshálh Hospital

Together we are creating more space for compassionate care, healing, and recovery.

Project Wingspan will:

  • Provide dignified care for our most vulnerable patients with 35 beds
  • Enhance care for seniors, patients requiring alternate levels of care, and those accessing mental health services.
  • Relieve pressure on our hospital, which is regularly over capacity.
  • Improve healthcare access for the entire community.

Our Commitment

Sechelt Hospital Foundation has committed to support Vancouver Coastal Health’s Sechelt | shíshálh Hospital Renovation and will raise $10 million of the total $14.5 million required for this redevelopment.

Providing a gift for the Hospital expansion will transform our current facility. We welcome your participation. On behalf of the Sechelt Hospital Foundation board and staff, we look forward to working with you to help make the best medicine local for the Sunshine Coast!
