Spring Moss Forest 6
11″ x 22″ | Original mixed media on paper
This painting is inspired by the fresh greens of Spring moss and forest that we see on the Sunshine Coast. In Japan, there is a concept of nature therapy called shinrin joku, or “forest bathing”. Just being surrounded by the greens of the forest and surrounding moss field reduces our stress level and gives you a calming and nurturing effect on the mind and body. It is an increasingly popular and accepted method of healing therapy all over the world. My hope is that I am conveying shinrin joku in this painting.
