Message From the Chair

Welcome to Sechelt Hospital Foundation!

Welcome to Sechelt Hospital Foundation

The Sechelt Hospital Foundation raises funds to support healthcare for all residents of the Sunshine Coast. Part of our mandate is to let you all know where your money is spent. This website is part of that initiative and I hope you find it a useful portal into the story of the Sechelt Hospital Foundation as well as a glimpse of some of your friends and neighbours who we frequently profile as generous donors to the cause.

In addition to information about the Foundation’s mandate, you will meet our outstanding staff team and a dedicated Board of Directors, all of whom welcome your questions and comments.

You may be wondering how we decide which equipment and facilities to fund. In a nutshell, we work closely with the Sechelt Hospital Director and Vancouver Coastal Health leadership to ensure donor funds go to the areas of greatest need. We have funded the purchase of diagnostic and treatment equipment, renovations to and upgrading of health care facilities, and we support professional development of health care staff. We also keep the community informed about proactive and preventive health through our MedTalks series.

There is also information about how you can support healthcare on the Sunshine Coast today or in the future. We hope that you will be so inspired by our stories that you will want to make a donation to the Sechelt Hospital Foundation. You can do that without leaving this website!

We are fortunate to have a great, full-service community hospital on the Sunshine Coast. Now, a new long-term care facility will welcome residents in January 2024.

On behalf of the board of directors and staff of the Sechelt Hospital Foundation, thank you for visiting
